[wzslider autoplay=”true”]Your photos were published in the famous Vogue magazine. Can you tell us a bit more about these photos? How they were chosen?

My photos have been published several times in Vogue. Every day, from Monday to Friday, you can send two photos. Editors are giving the approval for your photo. They are looking for something unusual and extraordinary. It’s very hard to get their approval.

Do you have a role model when it comes to the photography, or is there someone whose work you appreciate the most and want to be like him/her?

I used to have it before. I think that, at the beginning, everyone should follow work of other photographers in order to learn as much as possible from them. I do not support copying the work of others. I think that you have to be innovative, creative and original. The best competition is a competition with yourself. Every time you are competing with yourself, you are progressing so that today you are not like you were yesterday, and tomorrow you won’t be what you are today.

Your photo “Yin & Yang” won on the famous competition of the National Geographic. Please tell us more about that photo.

“Recently, I made a profile on YourShot National Geography and posted some of my photos. Comments on them were very surprising. Many of them asked me to post more of my photos. One of them was the “Yin Yang”, which was the editor’s favorites, and was chosen among the 12 best photos from all around the world and received most of the votes. I was so happy that I had the honor to present B&H in the best light. “Yin Yang” is the photo that requested a lot of work and effort. Starting with the models, to clothing, light, location, and the idea itself… it requested a lot of work. The photo is part of the project that I’m working on. I took the photo from the bridge, on my toes, in order to get a good shot and a good composition. I took a risk, but it was worth it. I just want to thank to Hana Zebo, who helped me with the realization, and to all the people who voted for me.

Being a winner opened you doors for some further competitions and engagements. Can you please tell us something more about your future plans?

I think that success is not the most important thing. The most important thing is a desire to succeed! I have couple of projects on my mind. I will not reveal them for now. But, you will be able to see them very soon.

Tesnim Karišik, 17-year-old photographer from Sarajevo, is attending 4th grade of Fifth Gymnasium in Sarajevo. She is engaged in the photography for a long time, but she is working intensively for the last year and a half. Miss Karišik won first places in several competitions, she had a solo exhibition of photography and volunteers in 8 organizations.

For ones interested in more amazing photographs can see them here.
