The FBiH could soon get the first modern company for the production of elite and mini city buses, which would be manufactured under the license of the British Motor Corporation (BMC) with headquarters in Izmir, Turkey. This possibility was discussed at the meeting of representatives of FBiH Government with owners of large Turkish companies. This information was confirmed yesterday by Nermin Džindić, Minister of Energy of FBiH, who led the delegation of the FBiH Government in Turkey.
British Motor Corporation is the British-American company whose license was bought by Turkey. The company produces modern buses, trucks and military armored vehicles. They have expressed great interest in opening a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This company is the largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in Turkey.
Džindić said that representatives of this company will visit Sarajevo in the next several days in order to visit locations and negotiate terms of investing and the ownership structure with representatives of the FBiH Government.
“BMC would open a company in FBiH, but we would be manufacturing buses under their license. The option is to cover the region with manufacture. This is a major corporation which would manufacture buses with capacity of up to 37 seats,” said Džindić.
According to Džindić, this job would mean a new investment and therefore employment of FBiH citizens.
“The idea and the interest now must be transformed into an agreement. Their delegation will visit Sarajevo very soon, to see the best location and negotiate all details,” Džindić said.
Furthermore, Džindić said that the Turkish company “Limak Energy”, with whose representatives he also talked, expressed interest in reconstructing the Sarajevo Airport. This company works on the projects of construction and reconstruction of airports in Kosovo and Albania, and it also builds thermal power plants.
