Ostrozac

In the upcoming period, the reconstruction of several cultural and historical objects is planned on the territory of Cazin as well as the construction of some new objects that will further improve tourist offer, not only in Cazin but the wider region as well.

Therefore, the beginning of reconstruction and necessary repairs of Berks castle (the Old Town Ostrozac), as well as the house of Nurija Pozderac, which is located in the city center, is planned with the help of the city of Cazin and PI Center for Culture Cazin. It is interesting that these are two objects that are listed as national monuments of BiH.

More and more tourists are visiting the Old Town Ostrozac (castle). Last year, a total of 10,000 tourists visited the castle, and this number has already been exceeded in the first five months of this year.

Ostrozac, the old fortress and castle, represents a real gem. It was inhabited for the longest time and often renovated, and it was decorated during all periods because those who ruled in it were adjusting it in accordance with their taste and needs.

It is interesting that besides the Old Town Ostrozac, there are also nine other old cities and towers, including those in Pecigrad, Stijena, Trzac … It is also very interesting that the old cemetery in Donja Lucka, which is located on the road between Cazin and Velika Kladusa, whose main characteristic are tombstones that are between two and two and a half meters tall, represent one of the highest in the entire BiH.

Besides the Old Town Ostrozac and house of Nurija Pozderac, it is interesting that Cazin has other national monuments of BiH as well, including the City mosque that is located on the hill above the city and represents one of the largest mosques in BiH.

Besides cultural and historical monuments, the construction of accommodation facilities with the aim of improving tourism offer is planned in Cazin as well. Thus, the construction of a new four-star hotel is planned in the city very soon.
