Zijad Zukic, a renowned harness maker from Sanski Most and one of the last authentic craftsmen in the area, passed away at the age of 83, a piece of news that has deeply saddened all who knew him.

Zukic was one of those individuals who left an indelible mark on the local community through his life and work. He was among the few who specialized in producing equipment for working and racing horses.

In addition to this, he was involved in horse breeding, a tradition in his family that has endured for several hundred years.

In his small workshop located at the town market in Sanski Most, Zukic handcrafted a variety of horse equipment, such as harnesses, stirrups, reins, saddles, and other leather products, in which he was an unmatched master.

Many remember him as a man who was always ready and open for conversation and humor. His workshop was a place where local news and events were shared and discussed.

Zukic was also the owner of impressive carriages, which he occasionally brought out onto the streets of Sanski Most, delighting the citizens. This unique sight always evoked memories of a bygone and romantic era. The tradition of this rare and unusual craft has been continued by his son, Senad, Nezavisne writes.
