Main topic of yesterday’s collegium of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) held in Sarajevo was the announcement of the referendum on the Day of Republika Srpska, and leader of the party Bakir Izetbegović said that this decision represents a classic violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
“Collegium of SDA believes that the announced referendum, i.e. the Decision of the National Assembly of RS, represents the most flagrant violation of the Constitution of BiH and the Dayton Peace Agreement since its signing. This is the first serious and organized attempt of organization of the anti-Dayton referendum in the RS. President of the RS Milorad Dodik stated that referendum on independence of this entity will also be organized sooner or later, and at last year’s congress of SNSD a declaration titled ‘Free and independence future and responsibility’ was adopted, in which the Assembly of RS is called to organize a referendum on independence of the RS during 2018”.
Izetbegović called the last step in that direction, the referendum scheduled for September 25 this year, a “rehearsal” for referendum on independence of RS from BiH.
“Beginning of violation of the peace agreement signed in Dayton 20 years ago is the beginning of violation of peace in BiH and that will be done on September 25 this year. violation of the peace agreement will unquestionably lead to the violation of peace in BiH and probably in this part of Europe, and that is planned to be done in 2018,” Izetbegović said.
Izetbegović accudes the political authorities in RS, led by Milorad Dodik, of taking the country to lawlessness, chaos, anarchy and insecurity by violating the rule of law, Constitution and national institutions.
The collegium of SDA invited the forces of law to strongly and immediately oppose the forces of lawlessness.
“There can be no peaceful separation in BiH, no one should be fooled with that. There can be no separation in BiH at all, but there can be conflicts,” stated the leader of SDA.
