ryanair_1813487cThe low cost airline company Ryanair could soon connect the Mostar Airport with several European cities – was stated at yesterday’s meeting of the representatives of the town and the canton with the representatives of Ryanair Airlines in Mostar.

According to the words of the marketing manager of the Ryanair Airlines, Luis Fernandes-Mellado, this company is currently expanding, the fleet is being expanded and the possibility of 40 new destinations around Europe along with Mostar is being considered.

He added that Ryanair has no special requests to make to the Mostar Airport beside cost effectiveness of the flights and that in the next two or three months the information will be released if this company will sort Mostar among almost 200 European and international destinations this Irish company has.

“We are the leading airline company in Europe. We have developed many small and regional European airports and there’s no obstacle to do the same in Mostar.” – pointed out Fernandes- Mellado.

The head manager of the traffic and security sector of the Mostar Airport Marko Đuzel said that there is no technical obstacle for receiving the Ryanair’s planes or any other company’s planes.

“Our goal is to connect the Mostar Airport with one of the European hubs in Germany, Austria or Scandinavia so that our passengers could take flights in the world.” – said Đuzel.

He added that the low cost companies offer cheaper flights so that the prices for European destinations go around 40 Euros but that difference in the prices should be co-financed by someone.

The mayor of Mostar, Ljubo Bešlić and the prime minister of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Denis Lasić said that they are sure the common interest to bring Ryanair to Mostar will be found.

“We arranged today to exchange in the next two weeks the necessary information in order to prepare our next meeting.” – said Bešlić.

The Prime minister Lasić expressed his belief that this town and the canton will find a common language with Ryanair and ensure the funds to co-finance this project.

“Now we have to make and plan the budget for the next year. I think this will enter the cantonal budget for sure.” – added Lasić.
