SDA Congress is postponed until 2015, Convention of the party on 9 February

Presidency of Party of Democratic Action (SDA) decided instead of previously announced Congress, to hold the Convention of the party on 9 February.

”SDA Presidency has decided to suggest to the Main Board of the party that on Saturday 19 January, decides about the Convention of SDA which should be held in Sarajevo on 9 February, in order to elect the leadership of the party for two year mandate” said the current president of SDA Sulejman Tihić.

Presidency also suggests that the Main Board affirms that the candidate for party’s president is Sulejman Tihić, and Bakir Izetbegović as his deputy and also that it be a single list.

Tihić and Izetbegović need to prepare the list of candidates for 8 deputies of the party, four each.

By doing so, the number of deputies of the president will be increased from five to eight, because of the need to satisfy regional, personnel and expert criteria, and all with the aim of better functioning of the party.

Also they agreed that by 9 March and by 31 March municipal and cantonal boards of SDA reshuffle their Executive Committee.

Some of the decisions require the changes of the party’s statute book, and they need to make appropriate decisions for that too.

Bakir Izetbegović said that the decisions of the Presidency of SDA made a compromise which will stabilize the situation in that party and in BiH.
