Two young production engineers from Zenica have turned their love for making something new and innovative into unique works made of epoxy resin. Belma and Ajla Sisic are sisters who are slowly conquering the market with their unique works.

Their shared passion for art and handmade products began in childhood. They made jewelry, posters, and drawings for their classmates.

By chance, they came across a video on YouTube about creating art pieces with epoxy and that’s how they started. They find inspiration for the development of epoxy materials in their creativity and desire to create something new.

“We immediately fell in love with this technique. Seeing that epoxy resin is still relatively unknown in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), we decided to investigate its possibilities. When we first discovered epoxy, we were fascinated by its versatility and the different possibilities it offers. We started experimenting with it as a hobby, and as we got more involved in the process, we realized that we wanted to explore and develop our skills in this area,” said Ajla.

Working with epoxy is challenging

Epoxy or liquid glass is a material consisting of two components, resin (A component) and hardener (B component).

“This material is extremely durable and resistant to wear, water, temperature… It can be used to make various items such as jewelry, tables, floors, watches, and much more,” explained Ajla.

They point out that working with epoxy can be challenging, as it requires precise measuring and mixing of components.

“With the right instructions and practice, we achieve great results. Also, epoxy can be painted with different pigments to achieve the desired look. This allows us to experiment”, emphasized Belma.

Epoxy jewelry, watches, and coasters

Their offer is based on unique watches. In addition to watches, the offer also includes coasters, trays, pendants, and boards made of walnut wood in combination with epoxy, levha (Islamic wall panels), as well as various paintings.

“Each of our customers appreciates the quality, originality, and artistic expression that our epoxy products offer. Our ability to customize products according to customers’ wishes additionally makes us attractive to a wide range of clients,” they pointed out.

Ajla and Belma are satisfied with their business and the state of the market. They point out that the market for artistic and handmade products is showing growth. This gives them many reasons for optimism.

“We are particularly pleased with people’s increasing awareness of the value of unique, handmade items. There are challenges, but the satisfaction we get from creating unique products and the positive reactions of our customers make our efforts worthwhile,” they emphasized, Akta writes.
