Activities of building the solar power plant in this public facility began in November 2011 and the primary school “Meša Selimović” is the first facility to use the solar power. This is about a plant that produces 26 kilowatts, enough to supply a small village with electricity.

This school will have hot water and electricity thanks to the photovoltaic power plant. The plant was put into operation on the day of primary school Meša Selimović, 25 April. Representatives of Sarajevo Canton government, Municipality Novi Grad and many other guests attended the ceremony.

The project is developed and funded by Eko-San company, whose director Samir Hamzić attended this primary school, as well as his children and this this the first such project in B&H. The project is worth around 100.000 BAM.
