prosecutionThe State Prosecution issued the indictment against Srecko Acimovic, former commander of the Second Battalion of the Zvornik Brigade of the Army of the Republika Srpska (VRS), for committing genocide in Srebrenica.

By unconfirmed indictment, Acimovic is charged for participating in a joint criminal with the aim to involuntary move 40,000 Bosniak civilians from Srebrenica, and brutal killing of more than 8,000 men and young boys.

As announced by the Prosecution of B&H, Acimovic acted on the orders of the Zvornik Brigade and the Main Staff of VRS in July 1995, and took Srebrenica residents from the school in Rocevic, blindfolded and hands tied, to the location they have chosen, the gravel pit on the Drina River at Kozluk, where they were brutally murdered.

“On that day, at least 1,040 Bosniak men and boys were killed, and their bodies buried in the sandy hollows in unmarked mass graves,” as announced by the State Prosecution. The indictment was submitted for confirmation to the Court of B&H.
