The Tuzla Canton (TC) has systematically solved the field of studying recent history, with an emphasis on the period of aggression. The curriculum has been changed, and the students of the ninth grade of primary school will receive an additional textbook that has been published in the coming days.
Namely, the supplement to the history textbook for the ninth grade of the nine-year primary school, by Almira Becirovic and Nazim Ibrahimovic, has recently been published, and will soon be among the students who, from this school year, according to the previously changed curriculum, have the obligation to study the period of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) from 1992 to the end of the 20th century.
The textbook supplement was written on the basis of relevant historical sources, and it was a professional challenge for one of the authors, Nazim Ibrahimovic, who was also a member of the Army of the Republic of BiH (ARBiH) in the period from 1992 to 1995.
This supplement covers topics related to the dissolution of Yugoslavia, international recognition of the RBiH, aggression against our country, resistance of defense and liberation forces and the formation of the ARBiH, the siege of Sarajevo and other BiH cities, as well as plans for separation of BiH, Dayton Peace Agreement and ending the aggression.
The book, published by Nam Publishing House in Tuzla, also contains sections on war crimes, civilian casualties, concentration camps, and the genocide committed in Srebrenica.
The recent history of BiH has been studied in a scanty way, and the authorities from TC state that they will appeal to other line ministries in our country to go their own way and include this topic in the curriculum, with the preparation of adequate textbooks.
