A support meeting for the Palestinians and the protest against the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, was held yesterday in Sarajevo, at the tray in front of Sebilj.

The meeting that began at 12:45 pm was organized by the Palestinian Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Egyptian Union in BiH, the Association of Young Muslims and the Association of Palestine-BiH friendship.

The former reis-ul-lema Mustafa ef. Ceric spoke to gathered people who said to Trump that Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine.

“We call on the Muslim world to unite in everything that needs to have honor and dignity in this world. We support the Arab League’s decisions to apply all UN and Security Council resolutions, and we send sympathies to the Palestinians, “ Ceric said.

We remind you, Donald Trump announced on December 6th  that the United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel, claiming that it should be done much earlier. After his move, disapprovals of statesmen from around the world followed, who said that Trump’s decision would destabilize the Middle East. In protests because of Jerusalem’s recognition as the capital of Israel, more people were killed and injured.

Islamic countries acknowledged East Jerusalem as the main capital of Palestine in response to its decision, and called on all states to recognize the state of Palestine.
