The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has suspended the investigation against the judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dalida Burzić and four other individuals for organized crime in connection with the criminal offenses of murder, obstruction of evidence and other offenses, the family of Dženan Memić confirmed to Detektor.

Dalida Burzić also confirmed to Detektor that the disciplinary commission of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) lifted her suspension on April 7, but that she has not yet received a notification from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH about the suspension of the investigation.

“I have been working since yesterday,” said Burzić, not wanting to comment further.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the HJPC BiH had not responded to Detektor’s inquiries by the time of publication of this text.

If new evidence emerges, the Prosecutor’s Office may reopen the investigation against Dalida Burzić, Meris Ćata, Vahid Ćosić, Sakib Krema and Ševal Kovačević, according to a document published by the Memić family.

The Memić family announced that they would return the notification to the acting prosecutors because they are “fed up with false promises”.

Dženan Memić (21) died on 15 February 2016, after sustaining serious injuries a few days earlier while out for a walk with Alisa Ramić, née Mutap.

The Third Instance Panel of the Court of BiH confirmed Alisa Ramić’s sentence of two and a half years in prison for giving false testimony in connection with the death of Dženan Memić, while acquitting Hasan Dupovac of abuse of office charges. Three other people were previously acquitted.

The investigation into the traffic accident in which Memić allegedly died was previously conducted by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office, and the Supreme Court of the Federation issued an acquittal.

Judge of the Court of BiH Burzić was temporarily suspended from duty on 2 September 2022, due to the initiation of an investigation against her relating to her time as Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office.
