Mirko-SarovicMinister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Sarović met in Vienna with the Director of the Secretariat of the Energy Community Janez Kopač.

During the meeting, which was open, meaningful and very useful, Šarović and Kopač discussed about the current problems in the sector of taking EU directives in the field of energy, with special emphasis on several outstanding issues when it comes to B&H and  the fulfillment of obligations under the Contract of Establishing the Energy Community.

It was noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina in some areas has made progress, especially when it comes to obligations related to the establishment of the state support system, but also needs to establish a number of obligations when it comes to the legislation in the field of energy efficiency.

The greatest attention is devoted to the issues related to the gas sector and regulations on the quality of liquid fuels.

When it comes to the gas sector, there has been some progress in RS and in FB&H, but in front of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina have remained a number of issues that need to be addressed in order to implement EU legislation in this area and to set up a free market gas.

On these issues will be discussed even at the Ministerial Conference which will be held in Belgrade in October.

On further steps to fulfill obligations under the Contract of Establishing the Energy Community, Minister Šarović on coming days will discuss with the competent entity ministries, was announced from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.
