The Celebration of the Unconstitutional Entity Day has begun in RS

In Republika Srpska, they continue as usual and according to announcements. Preparations for the central part of the unconstitutional celebration of January 9 as the Day of the RS are taking a long time.

And this year, despite the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declaring the celebration on this day unconstitutional, as well as the statements of Christian Schmidt, the high representative, who calls on the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to react.

Reception for police officers who have proven themselves in 2023 and presentation of recognition and plaques. In the Training Center of the MUP of the RS, awards for 36 police officers, as part of the commemoration of January 9, the Day of the RS, which is disputed by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the entity leadership, the official celebration of the Day of the RS begins today.

“We are attending the MUP exercise for the police parade. They are training intensively, in front of you are almost 900 members of the MUP of the RS. They will be distributed in 14 echelons”, said Siniša Karan, Minister of Internal Affairs of the RS.

In addition to these police echelons, 34 civilian echelons and 10 motorized echelons will participate in the parade, among them echelons with armored and tactical vehicles Despot and Vihor. Political representatives of the RS say that no statement will prevent the celebration, nor will the move of Christian Schmidt and the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“How unprincipled are those who insist on executing the decisions of the Constitutional Court. We have dozens of decisions in the Federation and the cantons that have not been implemented, and they are always based on the political decisions made by that court, and among them, one of those decisions was aimed at January 9,” said Željka Cvijanović, a member of the BiH Presidency.

“You cannot forbid us to celebrate January 9. We will celebrate it. You just do your job, if you think you can do something, try, and that just causes another irritation for us in terms of being even better and showing that the RS is something with which there is no gambling or negotiation,” said Radovan Višković, President of the Government of the RS.

According to Višković, the celebration of January 9 is not held to provoke someone, and that the RS does not argue with other parties to celebrate their dates, even though it does not agree with them, such as March 1 or Statehood Day. A message from Banja Luka today: the attack on January 9 is an attack on the RS.

“Everyone who attacks January 9 attacks the constitutional order of the RS and will be confronted with our constitutional and legal obligation to protect the RS. Everyone who attacks January 9 will be prosecuted,” said Karan.

The RS Day celebration will be the most expensive so far. According to the plan, for the first time the ceremonial parade will be held in the evening so that as many citizens as possible can attend. We remind you that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared the celebration of January 9 as the day of the RS unconstitutional, and Christian Schmidt, high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, called on the Prosecutor’s Office to act according to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federalna writes.
