geodeskiA three-day European INSPIRATION conference began today in Sarajevo on the occasion of the completion of the regional project INSPIRATION (Infrastructural space data of SEE). The conference brought together representatives of geodetic administrations and institutions from Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania and B&H.

The Federal Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs and the Department of Geodetic and Property Affairs of the RS organized the conference. At the opening of the conference it was stated that the two-year project INSPIRATION was financed by the European Union for about 1.5 million euros.

The main objective of this project is to promote geospatial data, policy development and improvement of the legal framework in the region.

The Prime Minister of the Federation Nermin Nikšić launched the GEOPORTAL of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs and during his opening speech stated that the efficient collection and management of spatial data at all levels are increasingly gaining importance because about 80 percent of the available information includes a spatial component.
