Israel’s military said its forces discovered technological equipment in Gaza that includes components for allegedly making precision missiles that Hamas was not believed to possess.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says Nahal Brigade soldiers and special forces recently raided a Hamas site in the Daraj and Tuffah neighborhoods of Gaza City, finding a tunnel opening leading to an underground weapons factory.
The soldiers found components that they claim prove that Hamas members learned to work and build precision components and strategic weapons with Iranian help.
The IDF has shared images of what it says are the rocket engineand warhead of a cruise missile developed by Hamas.
Hamas is known to possess anti-tank guided missiles and small explosive drones used at short ranges as well as improvised autonomous explosive submarines or underwater drones, but no long-range guided missiles.
It is unclear if Hamas ever deployed its guided missiles or if they were just in the development stage.
