Danis_hotel1A new movie directed by the B&H Oscar winner Danis Tanovic “Death in Sarajevo”, will have its world premiere at this year’s Berlin Film Festival in official competition.

During the summer, with the working title “Looking for Europe”, the movie was filmed in Sarajevo hotel “Holiday Inn”. The literal starting point for the development of the movie was the text, which was, on the occasion of the centenary of the assassination in Sarajevo, published by the French philosopher Berdard Henry Levy – Hotel Europe.

In June 2014, this text was presented to the Sarajevo audience and the author himself during the days of marking the centenary of the assassination in Sarajevo.

Famous French actor Jacques Weber has the main role in the movie “Death in Sarajevo”. He is the one who, in June 2014, presented Levy’s text to the Sarajevo audience in the play directed by Dino Mustafic.

The film was made as a co-production of Margo Cinema from France and SCCA / pro.ba from Sarajevo.
