The US is Offering $5 Million for Information on one Person

On Tuesday, the United States announced a $5 million reward for information leading to the location of the commander of the Al Shabaab armed group in Somalia.

The deputy head of that extremist group is Abukar Ali Adan, who the US officially labeled as a terrorist in 2018, according to the State Department.

Additionally, he is allegedly connected to other Al Qaeda branches.
For nearly 15 years, Al Shabaab has been conducting a bloody insurgency against the Somalian government.

The organization, which was forced to leave the nation’s major cities in 2011, is still active in sizable rural areas, primarily in the south and center. It plans assaults against law enforcement, political figures, and civilians on a regular basis.

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud took office in May last year vowing an all-out war against the militants, who have also carried out deadly attacks in neighboring countries, including Kenya.

“The terrorist group continues to plot, plan, and conspire to commit acts of terrorism against the United States, American interests, and foreign partners,” the State Department said, Klix.ba reports.
