Today marks the 31st anniversary of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) and 17 years since the formation of the 2nd Infantry (Ranger) Regiment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSBiH).

The RBiH Army was formed on April 15, 1992 and was the official armed force of the internationally recognized and sovereign state of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The RBiH army was composed of units of the Territorial Defense (TO BiH) and part of the then Patriotic League of BiH (PL BiH), and numbered more than two hundred thousand soldiers.

It was formed from seven corps that included the regions: Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica, Travnica, Mostar, the region of the current Una-Sana Canton and the area of Konjic and its surroundings.

The fifteenth of April is one of the most significant dates in the modern history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, because on that day the forces that managed to defend the country and its territorial sovereignty and integrity were officially formed. Later, together with the Croatian Defense Council (HVO), they became the Army of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then, after 2005, they became part of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Assets of the RBiH Army are the heritage of the 2nd Infantry (Ranger) Regiment OSBiH. It is present in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the marking of important dates of the RBiH Army, through cooperation with civil structures, veteran associations, through the transfer of resources and other activities, which have become the most important factor in nurturing the identity of the RBiH Army.
