Trade-Craft Center Bazaar opened in Mostar

With a ceremony organized by the Majlis of Islamic Community Mostar, the newly built trade-craft center Bazaar was officially opened yesterday in the City on the Neretva River. the center enriched the UNESCO’s zone of the old town of Mostar.

contemporary facility with 23 stores covering 900 square meters was officially opened by the envoy of the Reis ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH and Director of Administration for Religious Affairs Nusret Avdibegović and investor from the Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Al Othaim.

The project was implemented with the help of the Waqf Directorate of the Riyasat of Islamic Community in BiH headed by Senaid Effendi Zaimović, who said that this bazaar is very important for the citizens of Mostar and the entire Islamic Community because it is a result of a series of waqfs (donations) aimed at providing general benefit for the people.

Location of the bazaar is very specific because it belongs to the zone under protection by the UNESCO, but also because of its cultural value that gives a special touch to this facility.

In addition to numerous delegations, the ceremony and first shopping in the newly opened Bazaar were attended by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Rašid Hadžović, Chief Advisor to the Mayor of Mostar Radmila Komadina, main Imam of the Majlis of Islamic Community Mostar Suljo Effendi Cikotić and many others. Mostarske kiše performed the famous song “Emina” written by the Mostar poet Aleksa Šantić.
