Two boys, under the age of 14, were poisoned in an improvised facility for the production of cakes, in the Sarajevo municipality of Ilidža.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Mersiha Novalić, confirmed for BHRT that the Police received a report yesterday around 5 pm that two children were unconscious in Jahijela Fincija Street in Ilidža.

The boys were transported by ambulance to the hospital, where they are in intensive care and their lives are in danger.

Novalić stated that an investigation was carried out based on the report received and that the poisoning most likely occurred due to non-combustion in the stoves, which caused the formation of carbon monoxide, after which the children lost consciousness.

In addition to the police and the emergency team, employees of Sarajevo Gas also came to the field.

The Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Interior said that they are continuing to work on this case in order to determine all the circumstances.
