The Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, responded to the President of the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, who attributed the incident in Ferhadija street to “hatred towards Serbs” and called on Serbs to close their shops in Sarajevo.
Uk said that such a statement by Milorad Dodik represents another attempt to spread fear and raise tensions among the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Milorad Dodik’s statement represents another attempt to divide and create distrust among people who have lived, worked and built this country together for decades,” Uk said.
He added that Sarajevo is a European city where everyone is welcome – businessmen, investors and citizens from every part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
“Instead of the messages they are dividing, Bosnia and Herzegovina needs dialogue, cooperation and economic integration. The economy knows no borders or political tensions. People want stability, jobs and security, not rhetoric that sets the country back. Sarajevo will remain a city of openness, coexistence and European values,” said Prime Minister Uk.
