“Ukraine hit more than 30 Russian oil facilities”, Zelensky says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Ukraine had hit more than 30 Russian oil processing and storage facilities.

Ukraine’s military has stepped up attacks on Russian oil infrastructure this year, seeking to disrupt the Russian military’s oil supply and limit Moscow’s revenue to finance the war against Ukraine.

“More than 30 oil refineries, terminals and oil warehouses of the terrorist state were hit,” Zelenski told the officers of the Special Operations Center “A” of the State Security Service (SBU) who participated in the attacks.

He did not provide any additional details or give a time frame. A video clip of his speech was shared on his post on the social network X.

Ukraine used its long-range drones, developed by both the military intelligence service and the SBU, for the strikes.

“For SBU drones, a distance of 1,500 kilometers is no longer a problem,” Zelenskiy said, apparently referring to the strike on May 9, when a large oil refinery in the Bashkiria region was hit.

In the latest attack on June 21, drones hit four refineries, including the Ilski refinery, one of the main fuel producers in southern Russia, Reuters reports.
