If the blockade of border crossings with Croatia is not abolished, Serbia, Macedonia and B&H will request the urgent meeting of the Committee of CEFTA in order to request the unique approach and measures for Croatia from all other members of CEFTA, as said in the Ministry of Trade of RS.
This was agreed yesterday during a telephone conversation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia and the Minister of Trade, Rasim Ljajic with the deputy president of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of foreign trade and economic relations of B&H, Mirko Sarovic and the deputy Minister of economy of Macedonia, Hristijan Delevi.
They talked about the joint approach of three countries to the blockade of the road and cargo traffic carried out by the Croatian authorities at the border crossing Batrovci-Bajakova.
Ljajic, Sarovic and Dalev agreed that it is necessary for Croatia to, as urgent as possible, unblock the border crossing Batrovic-Bajakovo for the entire transport, because except Serbia and B&H, Macedonia as well, carries out a large part of its cargo traffic through this transit corridor.
“During the conversation, it was noted that the damage caused by the blockade in all three countries is already measured in millions EUR, and that the further appliance of this discriminatory measure from the Croatian side, could damage economies of Serbia, B&H and Macedonia, which are one of leading foreign trade partners of Croatia“, as said from the Ministry of Trade.
Also, Ljajic met with the Ambassador of Turkey, Mehmed Kemal Bozaj, who expressed his concern over the multi-day blockade at the border crossing Batrovci-Bajakovo, given that a large number of Turkish trucks is in a 20 kilometer long row.
As Bozaj stated, the Turkish economy is suffering a great damage because of the blockade.
