US Secretary of State Blinken sent a fierce Message to Dodik, comparing him to Putin

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken commented on the behavior of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and sent a message to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Blinken sent the message on his official Twitter account, and compared Dodik to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Milorad Dodik’s attacks on basic rights and freedoms in Republika Srpska show he is on President Putin’s authoritarian path. StateDept, represented by Amb. Murphy, continues to advocate for the democratic and prosperous future that all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina deserve,” he wrote.

This short message is extremely important because Blinken, who is practically the second most important person in the American administration after the president, addressed Dodik directly.

This shows that Washington pays a lot of attention to the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that Milorad Dodik’s moves are being followed closely.

Let us remind you that the RS under Dodik’s leadership announced or started to adopt a series of laws that would directly violate human rights and freedoms, such as the law on media, non-governmental organizations, the LGBT population, etc.

In addition, Dodik decided that the Republika Srpska should break diplomatic relations with the US embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is an extremely hostile move that will surely be followed by a fierce response, Klix.ba reports.
