What is the Amount of Debt to the Tax Administration of the FBiH?

The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) published a list of debtors, 4,927 of them, who, with interest, owe almost 2 billion and 700 million BAM. Looking at the debtors, it is evident that the largest ones are those that are essentially state or entity companies.

Thus, FBiH Railways owes more than 172 million BAM with interest, followed by the mines that operate as part of Elektroprivreda BiH. Kreka, Zenica, Breza, Kakanj are at the very top of debtors. So their debt is greater than 377 million BAM.

Health institutions in FBiH are also interesting. The University Hospital in Mostar owes more than 100 million BAM in tax debt, the Health Center and the Hospital in Konjic owe more than 21 million in taxes with interest. County Hospital “Dr. FraMihovil Sucic“, owes more than 5 million BAM.

It is interesting that the company Fabrika duhana Mostar is in debt of more than 5 million BAM, but this factory has not produced cigarettes for a long time, and it was bought by the owner of the Mikra-Matic company from Siroki Brijeg.

The debts of RTV BiH exceeded 27 million BAM.

Svetlana Cenic, an economist, told that it is not surprising that the biggest debtors are precisely those companies that are owned by the state because, in her opinion, they are in a privileged position.

“Just look, their debts are being extended. Someone will pay for that one day, more precisely, the citizens. The burden of debt falls on them. Then we will present ourselves as successful. It’s false success. Debts will have to be paid,” Cenic stressed.

To recall, the FBiH budget for this year is 6.7 billion BAM, with the rebalancing it has increased to almost 7 billion. Therefore, the debt to the FBiH Tax Administration is greater than one third of that budget, N1 reports.
