Wigemark: Decisions of Courts must be respected!

b_160923031Head of EU Delegation in BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark reiterated yesterday in Banja Luka the attitude of EU that referendum in the RS on the day of that BiH entity is unnecessary and that decisions by the Constitutional Court of BiH, as well as all other courts, must be respected whether someone likes them or not.

“The fact that some other decisions have not been implemented yet is not a justification for your own failure to act,” Wigemark said.

Referendum scheduled for September 25 is coming, Wigemark said, in a bad moment, when the application of BiH for membership in the EU was being considered and prior to local elections in BiH.

After talking to the President of the National Assembly of RS Nedeljko Čubrilović, Wigemark pointed to the fact that dialogue is the only way of solving the issue of holidays.

“What we as the EU are advocating for is responsible behavior of all parties, without playing with symbols in a provocative way,” Wigemark added.

Head of EU Delegation in BiH emphasized that no one asked from representatives of the international community in BiH to be mediators in the process of looking for a solution acceptable for everyone regarding holidays, and that they will be willing to help.

“No solution can be imposed, but it must be a result of agreement between all parties,” Wigemark said.

Čubrilović also repeated that the National Assembly of RS will amend the Law on Holidays in the RS and define certain attitudes that will not insult other nations. That law must be adopted with consent of all participants in the entity parliament.
