Workers from BiH to work in Germany again

Workers from the Western Balkans can re-apply for work in Germany after a break caused by the covid-19 pandemic.

Namely, as confirmed by Dominik Erentraut, Deputy Chief Spokesman of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Germany, practically all restrictions have been lifted since July 4, when it comes to the Rule for the Western Balkans and other employment programs for our workers in that country.

"Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the German Ministry of the Interior also restricted entry from third countries at the EU level. These restrictions were lifted by the BiH Ministry of Interior on 4 July, and there are no longer any restrictions for any of the six countries covered by the Western Balkans Rule. This re-enabled employment in Germany through the Western Balkans Rules. However, it should be emphasized that the introduction of restrictions is possible at any time, depending on the development of the situation caused by the pandemic, "Erentraut explained to Nezavisne novine.

As for the Rule for the Western Balkans, he clarified that it was never repealed, especially not after, as he emphasized, it was extended again for a period of three years at the beginning of the year, ie until the end of December 2023.

"This rule also covers BiH, and the only novelty in relation to the previous rule is the introduction of a limit of 25,000 which applies to all countries, which, except BiH, also include Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Serbia," he said.

When it comes to the possible creation of new jobs in Germany, there are currently no adequate data.

As explained, given that the pandemic is still ongoing, German employers at this time can not estimate what the needs will be in the labor market in the coming months, so for now they are not announcing.

The independents also sent a question to the German Employers' Union, but even after five days no answer was received, which confirms the thesis that they are not yet willing to publicly state their needs at this time.

In addition, as it was said, Germany pays great attention to the "Little Schengen" initiative, which wants to keep workers in the region and create a common regional market, so that the region can be more easily integrated into the EU, Biznis Info writes.
