The meeting of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic with the Secretary of State of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Sir Alan Duncan, took place yesterday in Sarajevo. Chairman Zvizdic expressed his appreciation  for the support and the readiness of the United Kingdom to support BiH and the Western Balkan countries on their path towards the EU membership.

Zvizdic noted that bilateral relations between the two countries are very good and that the development of relations between BiH and the United Kingdom in the future period should be emphasized on strengthening the economic cooperation, particularly through attracting quality investments but also through transfer of knowledge and technology.

Chairman Zvizdic introduced Minister Duncan with the current economic and political situation in BiH and noted that his main goal is to maintain the positive momentum of the process of European integrations in BiH. In the context of the reforms and obtaining candidate status, BiH is strongly committed to continue with the implementation of the agreed measures.

Minister Duncan stated that BiH managed to implement numerous positive activities during the past period and that the following period on its path towards the European and NATO integrations should be used to achieve results through positive reforms in all fields.

Chairman Zvizdic welcomed the message and statement of Minister Duncan that the United Kingdom will keep its interest in the Western Balkans region and provide the support to regional cooperation, stability and economic – social reforms.

Chairman Zvizdic and Minister Duncan also discussed the topic of the upcoming Western Balkans Summit that will be held in London in July, and both of them agreed that it is important for the main topics to be economics and security.
