The Hajduk’s Door could collapse because of Irresponsible Behaviour of Individuals

The characteristic ring in the rock in the eastern part of Cvrsnica Mountain collapsed due to the irresponsible behavior of individuals who, presumably in the desire for the most beautiful photo, climbed the upper edge of the ring and thus destroyed the fragile rocks of which it is composed, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

This is how the news from the near future could sound if this irresponsible behavior of self-proclaimed mountaineers and so-called nature lovers continues, write the Mountaineering Association.

Hajducka Vrata or Mijatov Prolaz is a stone opening in a rock about 5 meters in diameter created by the action of various climatic and geomorphological factors. They are located at 2000 m above sea level on the mountain Cvrsnica and are visited annually by thousands of mountaineers and nature lovers.

It was believed that once fighters passed through the Hajduk Gate, not a single bullet could do anything to them. Allegedly, one of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogies was supposed to be filmed at this location, but that did not happen due to the inaccessible terrain.

Due to its aesthetic and ambient value, Hajduk Gate was protected in 1985 as a natural monument in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
