A plane carrying 140 passengers from the Italian city of Bergamo landed at Mostar Airport yesterday, and a new wave of summer charter flights was announced, which are expected in the coming period to several destinations in Italy and Ireland.

”Today, 140 passengers arrived from Bergamo, and in the coming period we will have flights from Palermo and Catania,” announced the Mostar airport yesterday.

In addition, the official start of the first regular Mostar-Zagreb-Mostar air line, which will operate three times a week, was announced for Wednesday, May 3rd, which the management and the City of Mostar, which is the majority owner of the airport, consider the beginning of a new era of business.

For the establishment of a regular route on which Croatia Airlines will operate, the City of Mostar allocated one million BAM from the city’s budget, with the aim of enabling the residents of Herzegovina to connect with flights to 25 European destinations through the airport in the capital of Croatia.

In order to facilitate travel, the company Mostar Bus introduces an additional service and provides a free bus line on the route between the city of Mostar and Mostar Airport, which will be available to all passengers, and the timetables are adapted to the arrivals and departures of the planes.

This additional service of the company Mostar Bus will be available during the entire duration of the regular Mostar-Zagreb-Mostar air route. The last Croatia Airlines flight connecting Zagreb and Mostar was before the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.

Mario Kordic, the mayor of Mostar, characterized the return of this airline as a historical event and the beginning of a new business momentum for the Mostar airport, which is the basis for serious tourism and the development of all branches of the economy.

The fact that the first regular flight will be the day after the opening of the Mostar International Business Fair 2023, which is held from May 2nd to 6th in partnership with the State of Israel, and that business people from 30 countries around the world have already announced their arrival, is especially symbolic, Ekapija reports.
