At today’s session of the Joint Committee for the Supervision of the Work of the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the proposal of the budget of the institution for 2018 was confirmed, acting chairman Barisa Colak (HDZBiH) confirmed to journalists in Sarajevo.

As this proposal has been clarified, it will be sent to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH and the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PSBiH).

“The OSA’s budget for next year is about 35 million BAM,” Colak said, adding that it was a public document that would be available to the public.

Colak is presently acting chairman of that committee following the removal of Nikola Spiric (SNSD) from the position because of a suspicion that he delivered conclusions that were adopted by the committee to OSA.

Asked by a journalist when this body should be working at full capacity, Colak expressed hope that at the next session of the House of Representatives some things would be clearer, as he believes that both houses of parliament should be informed about everything that has happened.

“I hope that the House of Representatives will fully comply with the provisions of the Law on OSA, and that in the period ahead of us, we will have a chairman of the Joint Commission from among the opposition parties as soon as possible,” Colak explained.

He added that he cannot predict when a new chairman will be selected, but he believes that it’ll happen within two months, which is how long Colak is set to temporarily perform this fuction.
