The Ambassador of B&H to Pakistan Nedim Makarevic handed over the donation in books of total value of 50.000 BAM to the Ambassador of Afghanistan in Pakistan Jannan Mosazai, who will forward them to the Afghan Ministry of Culture and Education in Kabul.
“Since I am the Ambassador of B&H to Afghanistan as well, during my last stay in Kabul and during conversations with numerous students’ societies I realized in how difficult economic situation they are, and that they urgently need material help. Afghanistan, just as the neighboring Pakistan, deals with a huge problem of the emigration of young and perspective people to other countries”, Makarevic explained.
In order to prevent that, better conditions must be created generally, but first of all it must be started from facilitating the education itself. Since the expert literature is expensive and hard to reach, the Ambassador of B&H considered this gift adequate for the students of Afghanistan.
Jennan Mosazai, the Ambassador of Afghanistan in Pakistan, thanked for that gift pointing out that he is immensely happy that B&H, although dealing with its own problems, neither does forget those who are dealing with far greater issues.
“This is a nice example of how to reach out a hand when someone needs it. Although Afghanistan is not able to return the favor now, I am sure that the day will come when we will also be able to help someone. Thanks to B&H and the Ambassador Makarevic for the help”, said Mosazai.
This is not the first time that the students are receiving help in this kind of way. A similar activity was performed at the beginning of this year when the Ambassador Makarevic delivered help to the Palestinian students, actually to their ambassador in Islamabad.
Although the aid has been delivered on behalf of B&H, the money for purchase of the books was provided by various private sources, and not from the means intended for the operating and functioning of the Embassy of B&H in Pakistan.
