The BiH Presidency Chairman Nebojša Radmanović received Kieran Dowling, the nonresidential Ambassador of Ireland to BiH, which is based in Ljubljana.
During the meeting they spoke about bilateral relations between BiH and Ireland, as well as the process of BiH’s EU integration.
Ambassador Dowling expressed his satisfaction for the traditionally good bilateral relations between Ireland and BiH, while President Radmanović mentioned that there is an open space for economic cooperation between the two countries.
Radmanović noted the economic potential in BiH, which opens a wide range of opportunities for foreign investment, such as the potential for Irish investment in BiH.
They particularly spoke about BiH’s path to EU integration, keeping in mind that at the beginning of the year, Ireland took over the six-month presidency of the EU.
Ambassador Dowling announced that Ireland strongly supports further enlargement of the EU, and that includes the integration of BiH in the EU.
They agreed that is necessary to fulfill the requirements of the roadmap as soon as possible, to implement the decision of the Court in Strasbourg in the Sejdić-Finci case and the agreement regarding mechanisms of coordination. This should all be the priority and focus of political leaders in BiH.
