trebevicPupils from Sarajevo elementary school “Vladislav Skaric”  will plant conifer seedlings in the framework of the action of reforestation today on Mount Trebevic.

“In the organization of the Mountaineering Association of Canton Sarajevo, 40 pupils will participate in the action of reforestation of Trebevic below the locality Vidikovac,” said Vice President of the Mountaineering Association of Canton Sarajevo, Selver Ajrulahi.

Reforestation is realized in cooperation with the Cantonal Public Institution for the Protection of Natural Areas and in the framework of the Board of Forestry of Canton Sarajevo.

Today’s action of reforestation starts at 11 am.

Trebevic is returning its former glory, after it was inaccessible for tourists due to war devastation. New catering and recreational facilities brought it back to life, hiking trails attract many nature lovers, and the reconstruction of the cable car will mean a complete return of hikers and tourists to the mountain that has the best view on the capital city of BiH.

From the top of Trebevic (1,629 meters ) you can enjoy the view on Igman, Bjelasnica, Treskavica, Jahorina, Romanija, and especially Sarajevo.
