The construction of five buildings of the state prison in BiH is under the way. Currently, the workers work on concrete and installation works, and will soon begin construction of the remaining five buildings, announced the spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice Marina Bakic.
She added that the majority of excavations and various land works is done.
After the winter season and the creation of favorable weather conditions, the intensive building of all types of construction work on these highly secured facilities is planned.
“The work has begun in late July 2014, and the construction period is 24 months from the start of work,” added Bakic.
Additionally, she emphasized that the construction and operation of a future state prison is fully aligned with the European Prison Rules.
“With the realization of the planned project, BiH will get prison capacities of maximum security and of capacity of 348 places,” said Bakic.
