In a report by the European Commission on the progress of B&H in 2013, the assessment of the beginning of the issuance of electronic ID cards in B&H was rated as positive in the part concerning information society and e-government, announced today the B&H Agency for Identification of Document, Registers and Data Exchange (IDDEEA).
It stated that B&H began issuing new ID cards with electronic elements that will allow the future use of E-services. This is also the only shift of B&H in terms of progress in this area tied to European integration at the state level, said in the EU statement.
The introduction of electronic identity was created for the basis of the safe provision of services to citizens through the Internet and other mediums of communication. Such a rating presents a confirmation that B&H, in terms of the system of personal documents, meets its obligations tied to the visa-free regime.
