Tuzla Airport newRealization of the first phase of the upgrade and reconstruction of the passenger terminal at the International Airport Tuzla should start in July this year.

Considering a large increase in the number of passengers in the last four years at the International Airport Tuzla, there is a need for expansion of physical capacities, especially the passenger terminal, which can serve 200 incoming and same number of departing passengers in an hour at the moment.

“For that reason, we want to create and improve the conditions for the smooth flow of traffic, i.e. receiving and dispatching two airplanes at the time on our airport. Our goal is to be able to serve 400 passengers at the departure and the same number on arrival in one hour,” said the director of the International Airport Tuzla, Karasalihovic.

Funds in the amount of 6.5 million BAM are required for the complete project, including project documentation.

Karasalihovic noted that completion of the project is expected at the end of this, or in the early next year.

A total of 311,000 passengers used the services of this airport in the last year, and that number for the first five months of 2017 amounts to 196,000.

The goal of the management of the International Airport Tuzla for this year is serving 700,000 passengers.
