Fifth Sarajevo CEFTA Meeting of Deputy Ministers Held

sarajevo_view (1)Within the BIH Presidency of CEFTA 2006 Agreement in Sarajevo, the fifth meeting of the CEFTA deputy ministers was held yesterday in Sarajevo, which was preceded by a meeting of CEFTA experts.

Representatives of all CEFTA parties attended the meeting, and the chairman of the meeting and secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Hamdo Tinjak addressed participants.

One of the points of the meeting was a report on the implementation of CEFTA 2006 Agreement for the first six months as part of the CEFTA structure and planned activities for the second half of the year.

Among the reports that were discussed at the meeting was the BiH report on the presidency of the CEFTA agreement in the first half of 2013 and a working group for the liberalization of trade in services, a report on BiH’s presidency of the CEFTA subcommittee on agriculture and SPS measures, as well as a report of Macedonia on its chairmanship of the CEFTA subcommittee for tariffs and rules of origin and the subcommittee on TBT and NTB’s.

As the Chair, BiH informed CEFTA of the previous implementation of priorities within the BIH presidency, which refer to the depository agreement, implemented by the Ministerial decision nr. 1/2011-notification of state aid schemes in accordance with Article 21, preparation of the CEFTA conference on state help and transparency of trade policies and measures, which should be held in September/October 2013.

As Chairman of CEFTA 2006 Agreement in 2014, Macedonia presented its draft of priorities for its presidency in 2014.

At the meeting, the consolidated draft document of the integral growth as part of the SEE 2020 strategy, which will be the basis for the EU’s multi-user project for 2014-2020, was supported, announced the BIH Ministry for Foreign Traide and Economic Relations.
