Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, supported the initiative to make paying the tribute to the murdered children of Sarajevo on the Memorial for Children Killed During Siege that is located in the Large Park as an obligation during the visit of foreign officials in the capital of BiH.

The initiative of Deputy Samir Fazlic was supported at yesterday’s session of the City Council, besides a series of decisions, and it implies including a visit to the Memorial for Children Killed During Siege 1992-1995 in the official protocol of the Presidency of BiH, during the official visits of the highest officials of other countries.

The monument was raised in the year of 2009 and it represents a location where citizens and guests from entire BiH and rest of the world recall the tragedy that took place in the period 1992-1995 when at least 1,500 children were killed in Sarajevo.

However, visiting and paying the tribute to the killed children of Sarajevo is not part of the obligatory protocol for official visits.
