The Russian company Gasprom intends to lower the price of natural gas in BiH by 21 percent this year, in comparison to the first quarter of last year, quoted from Bulgarian electronic media reports referring to Russian Daily ‘’Izvestija’’. Gasprom will also lower the price of gas in Serbia by 12 percent, in Poland by 27 percent, in the Czech Republic by 26 percent and in Switzerland by 25 percent.

During this year, the price of gas will fall by an average of 413 dollars, as it was in the first half of last year at 360 dollars, says ‘’Izvestija’’. Last year, the most expensive natural gas sold by Gasprom was to BiH, Poland, Macedonia, Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The price exceeded 500 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters of gas. Macedonia and Poland paid the highest price at 564 dollars, respectively 525 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters.

Russians sold natural gas to BiH at 515,2 dollars, and to Serbia for 457,3 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters. The price of gas in Great Britain in the first half of last year was 313 dollars, in France 393,7 dollars, to Switzerland 442,2 dollars, and to German 379,3 dollars.

Gasprom controls one-fourth of the world’s oil reserves and provides one-quarters of gas consumption in Europe.
