13479524_1784515571785119_719455730_nAlmost 2000 of fasting citizens broke their fast at the Liberty Square in Tuzla. Beginning of the iftar time officially started by a cannon shot from hill Kicelj in Tuzla, and then followed the calls for prayers from the nearby mosques.

Iftar in the open was organized by the Islamic Community in Tuzla, with the help of the City Administration, the Government of Tuzla Canton, city and cantonal companies, businesses, associations, organizations and individuals from the region of Tuzla.

“Our wish was to gather in the city center, make a big iftar, to invite all members of our dzemat and our citizens, and to open our hearts all together and feel the joy of Ramadan,” said the Chief Imam of the Islamic community in Tuzla, Ahmed ef. Huskanovic.

Majlis of the Islamic Community in Tuzla implemented a series of religious and humanitarian activities during the month of Ramadan. Tarawih prayers are prayed in all dzemats in Tuzla, and the novelty is that users of the Retirement Home Tuzla will experience this joy this year as well.

“Our imams are working very hard in their dzemats. The focus is put on young people, because we want to try to animate those who want and have feelings as much as possible. We learn how it is to be hungry and thirsty in the month of Ramadan, but also how it is to be sad and without rights,” added ef. Huskanovic.

After iftar at Tuzla Liberty Square, a rich cultural and entertainment program took place, and this night was completed with an exhibition of levhas (Islamic art) entitled “U susret Bajramu (Towards Eid)” by Nermina Kamberovic Barakovic.

“In this way, we wanted to make the days of Ramadan brighter for our fellow citizens. At the exhibition was represented about 50 paintings and this is an opportunity for our fellow citizens, as well as tourists who are staying in Tuzla during Ramadan, to see what artists in Tuzla are doing,” said Kamberovic Barakovic, who is a member of the Association of Artists of Tuzla Canton.

The setting is organized by the Association of Artists of TC and the Majlis of the Islamic Community in Tuzla.
