moneyAt 27th regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a report on the performance on the topic of “Management of institutional grants”, which points to the bad situation regarding the award of grants.

In its report, the Audit Office of BiH states that the study indicates that the current way of managing grants is not efficient and focused on achieving results and objectives.

“Award of grants is made on all levels of government, from the state to the municipality level. In the period from 2014 to 30 September 2016, the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina allocated 66 million BAM through grants,” the report said.

The Audit Office of Institutions of BiH pointed out on problems concerning the lack of criteria for awarding grants, transparency and reporting of users who have received grants from multiple sources.

“In 2016, in the majority of institutions, annual work plans do not include the objectives to be achieved by allocating grants, awarding grants activities and sources of verification,” was stated in the report.

The conclusion states that the allocation of grants is not set up in a way that ensures equal treatment and transparency, as well as prerequisites for the achievement of results and objectives.
