Konakovic: HDZ and SNSD will not agree to partial Solutions

NiP President Elmedin Konakovic believes that HDZ and SNSD will not agree to partial solutions for changing the Election Law. He noted that it also depends on these parties whether the solutions will be implemented.

Speaking to reporters tonight during negotiations on changes to the Election Law in the European Union Delegation in Sarajevo, he said that everything would be done to ensure the integrity of the election process, but that it would not be possible if HDZ President Dragan Covic and SNSD President Milorad Dodik.

“It is a law that must pass in both houses of parliament. We can have empty wishes, but if they do not give the green light, that law will not exist. The decision is in the hands of the two of them,” he noted.

Konakovic assessed that these two parties would not agree to partial solutions and that it was “HDZ’s map”. He also commented on the views of the DF.

”I have to be honest. I saw the DF statement and I saw somethreats, calling us who are participating in the negotiations by different names. It was not popular to go to Neum and everyone found reasons not to leave. I would be overjoyed if they were in the negotiations from the beginning “, he pointed out.

He wondered what would happen if all international actors raised their hands, that is, if compromise is lacking. As he said, it is not fair for Croats to be elected a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it is also not fair to prevent Zeljko Komsic from running again for a member of the Presidency.

We remind you that state parliamentarians Dženan Đonlagić (DF) and Damir Arnaut (NS) stated earlier yesterday that HDZ conditions the integrity of the election process with the electoral model of electing members of the Presidency and that the House of Peoples of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be more involved in electing members of the Central Election Commission.
