CirclesThe film ‘Circles’ by Srđan Golubović is the winner of the main award at the 13th Brussels Festival of Mediterranean Film. The film, whose topic is dealing with the past, is the winner of the Grand Prize Jury, which is the biggest recognition awarded at this festival. The film is based on a story of Srđan Aleksić, a soldier in the Serbian Army who saved the life of a Muslim man in Trebinje during the war in B&H during the 1990’s, and in the end he loses his life by those who ‘belong to his side’. According to the director, the film deals with the consequences of one heroic act and follows the fate of people who were witnesses or participants at the event. ‘Circles’ is a contemporary story that follows the parallel events in Belgrade, Germany and Trebinje.
