Memorial Bust to Chetnik Leader unveiled in Bijeljina

A memorial bust of the Chetnik leader Dragoljub Draza Mihailovic was unveiled in Bijeljina today, which once again showed this city its intolerance towards history and truth.

The place where the bust was discovered is the square with his name, and where there used to be a bust that someone stole a few years ago.

The memorial bust was solemnly unveiled by his grandson Vojislav Mihailovic. The bronze bust is the work of the academic sculptor from Bijeljina Zoran Jezdimirovic, and its is 80 centimeters high, and on it is written in Cyrillic “Minister of War, leader of the resistance movement, to the grave”, while a golden cross is drawn below.

The famous writer and poet Matija Beckovic also attended the event and said British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s decision to give up Draza in favor of Josip Broz Tito at the end of World War II was “one of the most fatal decisions for the fate of the Serbian people in its history”.

At this ceremony, they talked about Serbian history, people and struggles with an emphasis on glorifying everything that Draza Mihailovic did, Klix.ba writes.
