osce 2On 13 November, distinguished government representatives and civil society partners will speak at a high-level commemorative event to mark the 10-year anniversary of the 2004 Berlin Conference on Anti-Semitism.

The event, which is jointly organized by the German Federal Foreign Office, the Swiss 2014 Chairmanship of the OSCE and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), will provide a forum in which to review the OSCE commitments on combating anti-Semitism and to take stock of what has been achieved in the 10 years since the 2004 Berlin Conference. Following on from a civil society forum on 12 November, the high-level event will give forum participants the opportunity to share their recommendations on combating anti-Semitism with government delegations.

Opening remarks will be made by Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Foreign Minister of Germany, Didier Burkhalter, Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE and Swiss Foreign Minister, and Michael Georg Link, Director of the OSCE/ODIHR.

High-level panel speakers will include H.E. Ambassador Samantha Power, United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Member of Cabinet, Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Harlem Désir, Minister of State for European Affairs of France, and Tzachi Hanegbi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel.

Concluding remarks will be made by Rabbi Andrew Baker, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Combating Anti-Semitism, and Ivica Dačić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.
