Croatian representative in the European Parliament, Tonino Picula told FENA that the European Parliament will discuss the referendum on the work of the Court and the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, which was announced by the RS President Milorad Dodik, if it is not resolved in a different way within BiH.
He pointed out that the issue is how the European Parliament will act according to the latest crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in his opinion it is neither unexpected nor unknown what Milorad Dodik, or Russia, want especially since this country tries to influence the stability in the region.
Picula said that the real question is what can make the EU or the US against these new-old situations in BiH, because this way of functioning of BiH quite is exhausted and just needs to be discussed in both BiH and the EU – how to replace such a dysfunctional organization.
He said that it is paradoxical to reference the Dayton because it becomes a political instrument just to those who want to change the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in this case, Milorad Dodik, who, referring to Dayton, usually opposed to the idea of the existence of any kind of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Picula believes that unless there is a serious debate, not only about the possible consequences of the referendum but also the complete functioning of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then the Stabilization and Association Agreement is not a “new approach to the EU for BiH” I cannot give any positive results because the country is going from one crisis to another and is increasingly lagging behind its neighbors.
He underlined that the current situation is a new wake-up call to the international community to make a qualitative analysis of how to proceed with Bosnia and Herzegovina, because any lag for those who want to destroy Bosnia and Herzegovina can be shown later as irreplaceable.
