mocvara_bistrik_2As part of marking World Wetlands Day, today a public presentation will be held in the Youth Center in Kakanj on the topic ‘Wetlands Bistrik-Protected Area’. The public presentation also marks the end of the project ‘Promotion of the protection of wetlands Bistrik’, which is financed by municipality Kakanj, and realized by the Ornithological Society ‘Our Birds’.

Mr. sci. Dražen Kotrošan will present the project, and ‘Osjećam se kao u raju’ (I feel like I am in heaven) is the name of the presentation of the film on the wetlands of Bistrik by Ilhan Dervović, which will also be held in Kakanj.

Currently, the ecosystems in the area of the wetlands of Bistrik are still solidly preserved, but because of the constant pressure (burning, hikers, harassment of animals, poaching), they are in danger of degradation.

Therefore, the relevant ministry of the Zenica-Doboj Canton will launch a process of the protection of this area, so that the wetlands Bistrik is declared a protected area within the category ‘Protected Landscape’, announced the Ornithological Society ‘Our Birds’.
